Sunday, March 5, 2006 - The Washington Township Fire Companies and the Long Valley First Aid Squad were dispatched to a report of a barn on fire with explosions involved.  Upon arrival of the first units, the fire was fully involved and the explosions were likely do to propane tanks stored within the structure.  Chester Volunteer Fire Co. was called into to assist with man power and provide their tanker.  Numerous units proceeded into the scene while others staged on the road and prepared for water supply.  The fire was extinguished quickly due to the wealth of manpower on scene, and the utilization of the Compressed Air Foam System on Fairmount's Engine 2-1.  Because of the resources involved, Fairmount's station was covered by Califon Fire Co., and Schooley's Mountain was covered by Tri-County Fire.

Attack lines were pulled from Engine 2-1, and delivered foam to the fire

The backhoe was an invaluable tool in the overhaul of the structure
