On March 13, 2007 at 2228 hours, the Fairmount Fire Co. and the Long Valley First Aid Squad were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment.  Upon arrival, Chief 2-60 established Hacklebarney Road Command and reported a car had snapped a telephone pole, rolled over, and 2 patients were trapped.  Engine 2-1 responded to the scene, while Engine 2-2 was directed to setup a landing zone for Northstar Medevac.  The Long Valley First Aid Squad was assisted by Engine 2-1's crew extricating the victims from the vehicle.  The driver of the car was extricate approximately 20 minutes from arrival of rescue units.  The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morris County Medical Examiner.  The fire company and first aid squad remained on scene for 3 hours while the Washington Township Police Department, Morris County Sheriffs Department, and Morris County Prosecutors office conducted their investigation.
