April 12, 2006 - At 1506 hours the Washington Township Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a brush fire. Assistant Chief 2-70 arrived and established command and advised responding units of a confirmed wood fire. Upon further investigation, 2-70 advised responding units of a working barn fire caused by the wood fire. Engine 1-1 was first due and placed two 1.45" lines in service. Fairmount Engine 2-2 along with Tender 2-7 supplied the scene with water. The N.J. State Forest Fire Service and Chester fire company were requested for their brush apparatus and one tanker from the forest fire service. Crews from Schooley's Mountain laddered the building to conduct extensive overhaul. Crews remained on scene for over two hours. Additionally, The Long Valley First Aid Squad was dispatched for firefighter rehab, and Califon Fire and Hackettstown fire were dispatched for cover assignments.
